The DELPHI ORACLE
SYBARIS SNUBBED!
After months of negotiation, Sybaris leadership was not able to garner enough council votes to secure exclusive casino rights in Downtown Delphi. The vote ended 5-8 against the newest Sybarite legislation. Many who had been highly anticipating the results H.P. Wisbane's negotiation efforts are now… [page 3]
Winter solstice festivities...
The annual Winter Solstice activities are in full swing this year after heavy snowfall blanketed Delphi last week. While certainly not the first of the many snowstorms Delphi received this month, it may have been the first fall of snow that was truly taken it for its beauty.

In the Vulcan highlands, trekkers and residents were greeted with a 'Magical Sled Adventure' organized by H.P. Penelope Krost. Krost, who is just sixteen but ascended to the title of High Priestess, said she organized the event to demonstrate the fun and magic that can be had from mastery and oneness with the earth. It was sponsored by the Floating Archives, where H.P. Krost is originally from. As sledders soon found out, there was a lot more to this ride than just a sled down the mountain! Individuals found themselves Dodging trees, steep cliffs, and a whole host of obstacles in an adrenaline-filled ride.
[break][break]
Some were concerned about the safety and legality of the ride, and not all witches or humans who rode it came out unscathed. There were reports of children who sustain injuries, including bruises and sprained ankles.[break][break]
"I didn't really sign up for something like that," said one sled-goer, who chose to remain anonymous. "I almost broke a leg!"[break][break]
When asked about these injury claims, neither the High Priestess nor the Floating Archives could be reached for comment. [break][break]
Many more riders, however, landed on Hatchi, the Priestess's canine familiar, and reported no injuries at all. The Priestess's powers of sand and earth came in handy when it came to breaking the falls of all the event attendees. [break][break]
But the festivities weren't limited to the Highlands. Indeed, many kind souls gave their time and generosity to the people of Tartarus. Hell's Kitchen, a small soup kitchen bordering the Garden of Hades, was sponsored this year by a philanthropic group. The New Dawn, named for their values of renewed hope and charitable vigor, was eager to take care of the costs associated with feeding over 300 individuals. Pots and pans sizzled as witches of all covens volunteered in this cook-off to feed and fundraise for the less fortunate. [break][break]
Many famous witches were seen at this event, including [[REDACTED]]*.

Downtown Delphi hosted its annual ice sculpture contest to celebrate beauty through the arts. This year, the controversial decision was made to host the city's prestigious event inside Lunanova, the mall complex. Many witches believe this violates the original promise of the Ice Sculpture contest, which was to amplify skilled and highly technical work with ice.[break][break]
"Everyone acts like they're too good for the mall," Jessica O'Riley, a Downtown resident, said. "But you gotta accept that even the new stuff is really pretty."[break][break]
Indeed, though the event will no longer be celebrated at the Museum of Delphi, it will still be attended by many. And perhaps, with its new location, by many more to come.[break][break]
*In a previous issue of The Delphi Oracle, it was mistakenly reported that H.P. Wisbane appeared in the Hell's Kitchen event. This error has since been rectified.
Children reported missing
Police and Cerberus have received an alarming number of kidnapping and missing children reports in the past week, officials say. Many afflicted families have gone on record claiming the fault lies in negligence of school staff, but many more children were reported missing from Suixa, an orphanage… [page 6]
O.U. to send explorers
In the first exciting move to the outdoors since the summer, OU is sending students and other explorers outside the city walls to venture into strange ruins that have appeared in the wilderness. The university claims the areas are safe for unassisted exploration, but some staff and parents still worry... [page 3]
