It's so easy he can't help but chuckle a little bit as he opens up the leather billfold and rifles through the dividers, plucking out cards and cash like a raccoon going through a store's nightly trash. He takes whatever looks important and tosses out the rest. Heck spirits willing, the thing will come back to the poor guy someday. Not that it was his problem anymore. [break][break] He swore these city slickers had the perception of stones and even less intelligence. Those walls really made these people really oblivious which told him they wouldn't last a day in his natural habitat. Too bad not everyone was blessed with his grand talent for all things. Although on second thought, maybe that was a good thing, otherwise he wouldn't be able to swindle all these people dry. [break][break] He glances down at the bite marks on his wrist, just a little price he had to pay to get his foot in the door really. It shouldn't take long until this whole "coven" or whatever was eating out of the palm of his hand. Like, the test to join was probably the easiest test he'd ever done in his entire life. Stealing some papers was nothing compared to hunting down some of the scariest creatures beyond these walls. If that's all it took to get into Sybaris then these people were all a bunch of jokes. What next? Was he gonna have to steal two papers next? Oooo scary. He didn't know what the Old Citadel was either, but sneaking through that place was like a cakewalk. Just pretend like you're supposed to be there and hardly anyone will ask any questions. [break][break] The man rounds the corner and immediately bumps into a big guy. A guy he really wasn't interested in seeing right now. He hadn't even had a chance to hide his "cut"! [break][break] "Oh uhhh, hey there bossman was just looking for ya," He lets out a nervous laugh as the towering man glares at him. [break][break] "Hector, you got my money? You only got a couple more days to pay before I'm coming for those kneecaps."[break][break] "Uhhh yeah yeah, it's right here!" Hesitantly he holds out his hand with his newly acquired money as the towering man swipes it out of his hand. Slowly, he counts through every bill, giving Hector an angry look as he shakes his head. [break][break] "Hm, you still owe me 400gp Blair. I suggest you get your ass in gear before I find another way to get my money back." Hector watches as the man walks away, pulling an eyelid down and blowing a raspberry at his back before continuing on his way. [break][break] Okay, a minor setback but nothing he couldn't bounce back from. That was something his mom told him he was pretty good at. He fell, a lot, but he always got back up! This world wasn't quite like anything he was used to though. Everyone in the tribe he was from was close, almost like siblings. Sure they had their differences but they always came together to support one another when it came down to the wire. Here though, the whole place was just filled with strangers where people hardly gave each other a second look. It seemed pretty strange, how in the time in his life that he's been surrounded by the most people, he felt the most lonely. Sure, you could go to the bar or wherever and meet new people, but all of that just felt so fleeting and fake compared to home. He couldn't help but miss it just a little. No matter all the new experiences Delphi brought, it never could replace home. That, was all sappy stuff though and perhaps it was best not to think of that. One day the spirits of the wilderness would call him back, but that day wouldn't be today. The "Jackal" had a whole city swindle. First, he'd get this scary Sybaris witch off his back and he cane carve his own path in this jungle of buildings.
