CAD-JACKING: TERRORISTS STILL AT LARGE

OP-ED: Wisbane's revenge

I write to all of witchkind when I say this: H.P. Dmitri Wisbane is, in all likelihood, deeply involved in the recent tragedy on the Cad Metro system.

For those of you that don't know me, I am a proud Sybarite who has for years now been advocating for a return to lawfulness in the running of my coven. I have been involved in launching many initiatives such as the Emerging Leaders Program, and the annual Silverwing Charity Gala. [break][break]

But that's enough about me -- why am I launching such an accusation is probably the more burning question you have. [break][break]

I have come upon documents* from H.P. Wisbane's desk that outline a Council legislation to transform the free Cad services into a co-operative. The plan, while boasting an ambitious roadmap to doubling the number of freight trains and passenger trains currently in circulation, would also see heavy fees incurred upon average Cad riders, and turn a wonderful public good into a private enterprise. These documents were presented in secret at the previous Council meeting, and were tabled for further discussion. In other words, the moment was perfect for a dangerous shock such as a 'hi-jacking' to convince the good people of Delphi and Salem that predatory protection was necessary.[break][break]

But that alone may not be enough to convince you, which I can understand. I, too, would not make these grave allegations against my own Coven leader were it not for an even more suspicious event. As we know, the hijackers were wearing enchanted masks fashioned in the shape of animals and demons. One such mask was also found around the premises of Veralo's, a jewelry chain under Sybaris protection. [break][break]

There is one last, damning link between H.P. Wisbane and the atrocities committed on the Cad metro: revenge. The specific train targeted was the mid-day metro from Delphi to Myca City, often taken by late-night service workers riding back to their hometowns. In other words? The casino workers of Downtown Delphi were clearly the prime targets, given that they mounted the most resistance to the High Priest's last piece of legislation.

Herein lie my thoughts on the matter: the High Priest will try to move forward with his legislation, we will be cowed by this threat and give in, the poorest among us shall be robbed, and the engine of one of the most significant pieces of Delphian architecture will be butchered and sold for scraps.[break][break]

What was in the gas? Alchemists weigh in

The mysterious gas used on the crowd during the Cad takeover has not yet been identified. The contents appear to be what Alchemists call a "double-blind potion" -- one where several different witches collaborated on the same outcome, thereby obscuring the nature of the individual ingredients and their purpose.
