Jack never was one for friendship day, most of the time...Jack didn't receive any letters, outside of something from their sister, and Penny...but that was just about it. And likewise, those were typically the only ones she felt inclined to write to...with the exception of like Juls. Maybe.

This year however, she managed to actually had more than those to write...and in an effort to avoid taking too much time sending them out...she was rather concise.

Each person, got some quote from one of the many books they had read, along with a simple signature that was some of the smoothest calligraphy one had ever seen before. If you got a quote, while it may not be words from Jack themselves....consider it a good thing. Jack isn't good at expressing this kind of emotion.

My Lady always seems to be off doing something trivial. Never mind the stack of letters and gifts from family, friends, and not-so friends I've placed on the table for her to peruse, she opts instead to continue rearranging the various suncatchers hanging by the living room's window wall.

"Ah, it is that day..." she hums offhandedly at my report. My hands twitch as she takes careful steps down the ladder—any injury in my presence would essentially mean my head.

"The usual will do, darling." Both her feet touch solid ground, and she turns to me. "Thank you for the year for all the blah blah and the what have you—"

I really wish you'd take things a little more seriously, My Lady.

"—oh, actually..."

Her movements are grace, like she floats rather than walks, as she picks up a sealed envelope laying on the coffee table, separate from the pile I have given. How did I miss that?

She hands it to me with a smile, and pats my cheek as if I'm no more than a pet dog to her.

"I was feeling particularly inspired with a new find lately. Have that delivered by today, won't you?"

I can only raise my eyebrow, curious. But I don't question it.

An envelope sealed with the crest of the de Ortiz family opens to a lightly perfumed letter. It smells sweet and floral, like a eclectic faraway forest hidden up in marshmallow clouds, and overgrown by a rain of milky white lily-of-the-valley. It envelopes ariadne othonos in an entanglement that says: you will be mine.

To Ms Ariadne Othonos,

Congratulations on your wonderful performance at La Monnaie last week. You are a rare voice among your peers, and a beautiful uncut gem. One day perhaps we'll meet, whatever circumstances let be; I would love to pick your brain and exchange notes then.

The letter is written neatly. Whoever wrote this clearly has been highly educated in penmanship or maybe calligraphy? Rich people I tell you. There are a ton of hearts drawn like little bubbles along the margins of the paper. Inside the envelope are two hand drawn coupons that look like a child made them. One with Shen’s name on them and one with Thoma’s name childishly written. There is a drawing with messily written handwriting clearly from Thoma with a  picture of what can be assumed to be Shen, Caspian Belle LaDeur and Thoma and an I Love You Daddy on it.

You are every bit as handsome and wonderful as the day I met you. Less stressed thankfully (you’re welcome ;) hehe). Thoma made this drawing for you isn’t it cute? It was from his kindergarten class.

[attr="class","ari"] Ariel had gotten the cute colorful stationary and little ornate envelope. When Ana opened it, it would explode out a bunch of cute colorful flower petals. Truly a letter that fit Ariel's personality. An explosion of color and nature. Little bite marks along the side of the pencil, as Ari scribbled and erased and scribbled again. Fidgeting trying to write as coherently as he could while also trying to express things to Ana. Definitely he was rambling in his writing, just like he did when talking in person.

Ariel had to pause a moment before he wrote the next one, it felt weird writing a letter to 'Ariadne' because he couldn't help but think of his sister who'd passed when they were kids. Same name, not that it was an anomaly for there to be two people with the name Ariadne, it just knocked the wind out of him a bit when he'd first met this Ariadne at the Opera performance.
