someone says it's a scam. but that's the thing about desperation: maybe they're wrong, you tell yourself. maybe i'll find my familiar again. maybe, maybe, maybe.



maybe, somewhere in a newly furnished apartment downtown, sitting on top of a sofa still in its cardboard box, an alchemist says, "really? this potion is terrible. the ratios are all off, which is, in my opinion, a waste of perfectly good— wait. where did you say you got this from?"[break][break]

maybe another is laughing and saying, disbelieving, "no waaay! they're giving us a bad name?!" as she turns the label over in her hand, and something familiar clicks into place between her ears.[break][break]
