[attr="class","chartltitle"]nina's timeline
[attr="class","chartl-item"]1995 the firstborn of meredith and sion covey. she comes shrieking into the world like a rooster at dawn and is planned, which makes the fact that her mother forgets the name she planned for her and her father ends up naming her after the nurse that delivered her kind of funny.
[attr="class","chartl-item"]1997 the sister's planned too, but the one that they didn't see coming on the timing. she's born before they get to the hospital and they've named her what the eldest was supposed to: adele victoire. they realize they forgot nina's stroller in the apartment lobby about an hour after she's born.
[attr="class","chartl-item"]2002 seriously burns herself when she tries to cook something for her and adele when their parents are out because the only things in the fridge were ingredients. though, the scar never really fades, her father still looks back on it with fondness: his nina, always so independent.
[attr="class","chartl-item"]2003 the third one's an accident, but they've got it down this time. they name her elodie marie. the two bedroom apartment becomes smaller.
[attr="class","chartl-item"]2005 her mother quits her job, saying that her children were old enough to look after and support themselves now. she decides she'll follow her dreams, though she doesn't know what they are yet. they look like an artist one week, then a candlemaker another.
[attr="class","chartl-item"]2008 stops going to school all together in favor of being home-schooled. her choice, her parents say, and she's flourishing outside the classroom. her sisters are uprooted to a new private school, though; dad's getting a promotion. no more two-bedroom apartment.
[attr="class","chartl-item"]2010 elodie marie asks why she can't stop going to school like nina. "i didn't want to," she answers, though she knows it's because they couldn't afford the tuition for three. nina's alright.
[attr="class","chartl-item"]2011 their mother disappears one day and dad never stops searching for her. so much, that he loses his job. the girls are alright.
[attr="class","chartl-item"]2012 the bills grow and nina learns to fall asleep to the sound of fists on their door until there isn't a door anymore.
[attr="class","chartl-item"]2013 she finds a job of her own.
[attr="class","chartl-item"]2014 except, that it's not. it's some multi-level marketing scheme selling essential oils. they tell her all the things that they want to hear: that it's easy, that everyone'll buy into it, that if she pushes it hard enough that it'll be fine. all she has to do is invest her money and sign the dotted line.
[attr="class","chartl-item"]2014 she gets another job and works. elodie marie remarks that she never sees nina anymore and adele, understanding, tells their youngest that she misses her too. it'd always been the three of them, anyway.
[attr="class","chartl-item"]2015 they move back to their old apartment, except rent's higher now. so, it's more like adele and elodie move back to a smaller one.
[attr="class","chartl-item"]2017 argues with adele, who demands that she be allowed to help with the debts that had been incurred on their behalf, which nina vehemently denies. their mother always said elodie was the prettiest and kindest. if that was the case, then adele was the best of them. adele drops out.
[attr="class","chartl-item"]2019 they don't talk anymore. she works.
[attr="class","chartl-item"]2020 she works.
[attr="class","chartl-item"]2021 she works.
