present-day the cadiuex family is best known for their involvement in the arts and the massive events that take place on their estate. more unconventional than is generally accepted for nobility, something many of their peers write off as a byproduct of their being involved in the entertainment industry. generally loyal and reliable when dealing with established business partners. heavily invested in society's status quo but "socially progresive". regularly involved in local charity work. [break][break]

scandal is rarely far behind a cadieux. both pierre and his wife have an extensive catalogue of tabloid headlines. as they've aged the two have become less sloppy about allowing their dirty laundry to be aired. [break][break]

the gorgon

the gorgon is a camera, not differing enough physically from other cameras of the time to be noticeable. it was designed to allow the user entrance into the minds of the subjects in the photographs it took. it operates best when handled by an experienced illusionist. a one-of-one invention that was never replicated.[break][break]

once the camera is turned on and recording the subject is rendered immobile and unconscious. to the witch being recorded, the experience of the gorgon is entirely unnoticeable. they experience an illusion, that they are fully conscious and having a conversation in an exact copy of the room they'd entered. what the gorgon records during this process is actually brain activity, allowing the interrogator to view a recorded copy of the subject's memories once the process is complete.[break][break]
