An Sybaris initiate under aer, Raju got a late start into things by joining the coven in 2019. He hails from the Myca desert, having coming to the city around 2010. His dad joined the Church of Her Mercy in pursuit of finding a community for his family. The two of them got by with his dad's honest woodworking business, which thrived as an honest company under the Sybarite name. In 2014, his father fell suddenly ill and passed quickly. As a result, Raju was set to live with his godfather as part of an agreement his father and godfather had signed. He joined Sybaris in 2019.

Motivations Raju's motivation to be loyal to Sybaris is because his own life was saved by a contract (that between his father and his godfather), so he values the power of someone giving their word. He likes Sybaris' value of integrity as well as their anti-control approach to magic because of his personal goals. Raju's personal goals are to return to being as recklessly curious as he was a child (his father expressed a dying wish for his son to do so), which means pursuing his highest interests: forbidden magic and mythical familiars. Rare and illegal magic is deeply intriguing to Raju. He hopes to join a company that will enable such a pursuit.[break][break]

Last Devi In Sybaris circles particularly, people are well-aware that his mother passed when he was young. They know this because Raju's father, Tarak, moved to Delphi and latched onto the Church of Her Mercy for comfort and community. Tarak's talents as a woodworker allowed him to create a flourishing business with lots of Sybarite investments. Tarak's sudden illness and passing resulted in countless mourners visiting Raju, from the church and general Sybarite society alike. Many folks know Raju is the last surviving Devi.[break][break]
Up-and-Comer Particularly with Sybarite circles, it is well-known that Raju is putting himself out there to try new jobs and experiment with new magic. He has been working hard and doing freelance work with many companies to test them out and see what his future might hold. His potential is overwhelming as a witch, but his indecision continues to limit him. Many commend his hard work, but he has yet to join a company still. He is looking for something perfect; does it exist? [break][break]
Familiar Enthusiast Raju loves mythical familiars and unusual ones. He loves to discuss them with other witches, and his life goal is to see a long bucket list of mythical familiars. He's also obsessed with the concept of ascended familiars. He takes on a sometimes conspiratorial approach to these kinds of things, though at other times, he simply posts up wanted posters where he offers his interface information so someone will call and let him pet his cool familiar.[break][break]

LOOKING FOR (SYBARITE RIVAL) You intercepted Raju mid-mission. He was stealing information (something cool! and magical! you demon!) and you either stole it before he could or outright stopped him from completing his mission. He doesn't often have a failure to report to his employers, but more importantly, he doesn't often find himself being outclassed by another thief/in direct opposition of another witch. It flusters him, especially if you gloat. And he's decided to beat you in every way possible: accomplishing your goals first, outperforming you as a Sybarite, and being stronger than you.

LOOKING FOR (?) Raju accepts a mission to gather information on a certain witch. He tails you and takes several photographs. You catch him and subdue him, looking through the camera. He can't spill on his employer, but with what information you can gather, he's been tailing the wrong witch. You aren't the target at all! Perhaps you laugh about it and become friends, perhaps you tell Raju all is forgiven if he'll take photos of you from your GOOD side, or perhaps you two become enemies. Ball's in your court.

Costas Clan The Costas clan is one of the most established academic families in Delphi. For several generations, the Costas have had professors and doctors in the family, so Penelope's early graduation and acceptance into a doctorate fellowship surprised no one. Her last name is pretty recognizable to anyone who is familiar with Oracle University, though some members of the Costas clan go outside of Delphi to teach, especially abroad.[break][break]
Professor P Penelope's sixteen years as a college professor have made her a recognizable face to any OU student. She was known for pushing students intellectually and demanding high quality work. Her classes were almost exclusively lecture, structured to have only two or three high-point assignments throughout the class and that was it. She had groupies, but there were plenty of students that didn't care for that class structure and decided she was more trouble than she was worth (even though her best students always went on to earn doctorates themselves). Ex-Con Penelope was arrested in January 2000, serving 23 years and being released in 2023. Her trial was highly publicized, and her case is even taught in legal programs at OU. She is a very recognizable face to anyone interested in true crime, magic-based offenses, and local criminality. Additionally, her Hydra ties are well-known, but technically no tie has been proven post-prison.[break][break]

However, she is now more recently involved. Penelope is looking for brothers in arms at the ground level. Her 'grunt work' for the coven was primarily performed in prison when she was a hitman for other inmates that Hydra wanted dead. She could benefit from a handler who doesn't mind her age and experience, who won't condescend and is willing to give her dirty work.

Fiona's got family problems a-plenty. Her parents left Delphi after selling the family business for settling a mafia debt, her older brother secretly bought the business and let Fiona run it even though it made their now-missing sister Doreen blow up at them for secret-keeping, and Fiona's relationship with her brother is still too strained to allow them to bond over finding Doreen. But hey. She is determined to explore every inch of the ocean and loves to seek out treasure or answers to folk lore she picks up at her frequent bar/cafe visits. If you don't see her out on the waters or pursuing a lead on her sister, she's probably performing a sea shanty or singing along to another's performance out in Delphi.

Being so above board, however, did make it possible for some clever criminals to transport illicit goods within legal packages every once and a while. [break][break]
Missing Doreen Anyone with eyes is aware of Doreen Lynch's disappearance. Not only did her parents raise awareness at the ports, but Doreen's colleagues at the DPD did their due diligence to get information on her disappearance through tip hotlines, posters, and questioning suspicious parties. Ronan did his part in Cerberus circles, and Fiona spent far too much time at every cafe and bar in the city, putting up posters and talking to anyone who might have seen anything.[break][break]
Performer Fiona used to sing and play the concertina and guitar. She would play at bars and cafes when a flight of fancy struck, though her favorite performances were on the sea on transport ships. Her magic's not very offensive in nature so far, but she's more than happy to use her fists, especially after the years of bar fights under her belt.
