So like a deeply guarded secret, lived life better known as Queenie, much to the chagrin of her parents. [break] Everything seemed to fall into place. The Le household well decently well off, and aside from the soft hints of tiger parenting, Quynh stepped into the world as a young woman, ready to take life by the horns. A hardworking apprentice, a part-time barista and hardcore raver, she walked the path as the baby girl who will have it all. She just needs to find some lucrative investments to have her money finally work for her. Retiring at an early age seems to be a very attractive prospect in this economy. [break] It was that fateful evening that knocked upon her family home's door. She recognised them vaguely: non-related aunties and uncles that attended those small family events and banquets held during her early childhood but had now waned in frequency. They entered her home, and her parents greeted them like the long lost friends they were. It was this visit that reminded her of the sacrifices her grandparents gave in order for her to live this comfortable life. [break] Family above all. It burned slowly in the back of her subconscious to the present day, simmering through the cracks of her charm and friendliness. [break] Queenie catches the eye of a young witch, struggling as they were pushed against the mob of other partiers. Over the booming bass of the upbeat music, she parted the space, saving them from getting trampled further. Her smile--always alluring and welcoming. Glow stick?
