While known more so as a war family for their many accomplishments during the Great War, the Emersons long made a name for themselves among high society as intrepid and resourceful individuals. Like cockroaches, their founder Jonah Emerson made a name for himself by taking on the fastest, and most dangerous of trade routes. Seemingly unkillable, his record for moving as well as retrieving cargo gained him a lot of trust and allowed him to become a mercantile power house that lead to the expansion of the Emerson name. While at present, the Emerson's reputation stands as a prolific family of Cerberus witches capable of great power and even greater character, they still maintain a stronghold in their own merchant industries with some children branching out beyond weapons to textiles or agriculture. Despite4 their varying focuses, the Emerson's are still a war family. Every child born of theirs is put through rigorous physical and magical training, tempering each and every member like a steel blade. There is no war now, but Marjorie has indoctrinated every child under her to stay ready. [break][break]

Very recently when the Emerson house took a devastating blow when the last Heir Apparent, Cedric Emerson, was accused of extensive corruption. He disappeared soon after, avoiding trial as well as unofficially breaking off his engagement with Josephine of the Knox Clan. The details were never revealed to the public, blocked by Marjorie Emerson's connections, but ever since she has retaken her seat as Matriarch and selected a new Heir Apparent: aiden emerson . While a great focus is put towards the children of the clan, Marjorie Emerson has kept her eye open for prospective candidates with potential to nurture. She is a frequent guest at Cerberus entrance ceremonies and tournament, quietly scouting new blood. While her focus is Cerberus itself, it isn't uncommon for her to look outside for diamonds in the rough. It isn't unheard of Marjorie to pluck someone off the street to pull into the coven. Soldiers, or scholars, it doesn't matter. She is adept at identifying talent and quick to offer to help it grow. At a cost of course: loyalty. A sponsorship does not come freely, as any person adopted into the family in this way will find themselves put through the same hell any other Emerson suffers through during their youths. The work is is grueling but she expects to break you down your core and build you back up again.
