runa isilivere - a confident young woman with callouses on her palms and fingers, skin golden-tanned by the sun, well-worn armour atop pretty skirts, teal eyes jewel-bright and sparkling. she carries a naginata at her side and a bow across her back, a travel pack slung over her shoulder, a silver lyre harp at her hip. she moves with the easy self-assurance of one at peace with herself and her abilities, smiles with genuine good cheer.[break][break]

she has a warrior's scars, a musician's clear voice, an adventurer's spirit, a wanderer's stories, a dancer's skirts, a lover's gentle hands, a good friend's dependability, and an older sister's sense of responsibility that grounds her in the world. she is many things, has many facets - but she's never lost sight of her heart, of herself.[break][break]

runa has come a long way from the sea-soaked shores of her childhood, and she's happy with who she has grown into.[break]

if you asked her about her life, runa would laugh and say that she loved her childhood, but it's a rather uninteresting story.[break][break]

she is an orphan but she's never felt like one. left in the cradle of the sandy banks, she was picked up by three old ladies and taken into their care, doted upon and unequivocally loved as dearly as if she'd been their flesh-and-blood. blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb - family is what you make for yourself, and runa believes this wholeheartedly.[break][break]

she's certainly not the only person her grannies have taken in over the years, but she is one of the oldest, and definitely one of the most sensible. her grannies have made it very clear to her that raising her was a privilege, a joy, that she has no obligation to pay them back or any expectation laid upon her beyond growing up to live a happy life.[break][break]

but when you love someone, don't you want to take care of them?[break][break]

runa loves her grannies, loves her siblings and cousins and friends - of course she wants to support them now that she is older, wants to give them gifts and give them stability and ensure that they can have the same bright future that she was given herself. adventurers, wanderers, mercenaries for hire can be quite a lucrative career if one knows what they are doing - and runa has never been anything less than competent in what she sets her mind to.[break]

and, well, she loves the wilds too, loves the unknown, the winding road, the whisper of winds, the varied people she meets along the way. she loves knowing that each day will be different from the next, that she can be as grounded or as free as she wants. she loves the warmth of a campfire, the stars spread across an unfiltered sky, the thumping beat of a good fight, the rowdy cheer of a busy bar.[break][break]

she loves her companions too. she's travelled with a lot of people over the years, made a lot of friends. she keeps in touch with almost all of them - her contacts list is a mile long, and growing. she's seen all the major cities and most of the minor ones as well, she can list at least three people she knows for each place she's been, and she likes to think that they remember her fondly as well.[break][break]

and throughout it all, of course there's jed, who is by her side (and she by his) as faithfully as the rising sun. [break]

to be honest, runa's not quite sure how their little party has gotten roped into joining pegasus, but, well, coven witches are decently well paid and this particular coven doesn't seem restricting. there's a lot of interesting things to learn, a lot of interesting people to meet, a few dear friends to catch up with and a whole new world to explore.[break][break]

runa isilivere is happy with where she is, and she's looking forwards to what the future will bring.
