NPC, but it quickly devolves into spontaneous chaos[break] objective: get back to delphi alive and in one piece[break] danger level: initiate - novice[break] moderation: probably not necessary, but if you'd like to mod anything, or pepper in mod posts of random stuff occurring like a D&D encounter, we'd be ecstatic[break][break] [attr="class","questh"]DETAILS [break] ic description: essentially, this quest details runa and jed's terrible, horrible, no good very bad time trying to get back to delphi after completing a contract to retrieve an artefact. it is split into 4 separate threads, each with something going wrong:[break][break] THREAD ONE[attr="class","questtalk"] "huh. this cave is cool... but shouldn't there be traps and shit-? oh fuck is that a dragon"[break] [attr="class","questblock"]
runa and jed track the artefact down to a remote cave system in the mountains. they discover the artefact amidst mounds of trinkets and treasures and trash... they also discover that shit, this cave is the hoard of a dragon, who has just returned and is less than pleased at the smell of intruders. now they must find a way out without getting eaten - and without attacking, because they sure as hell can't kill a whole ass fucking dragon. [break] THREAD TWO[attr="class","questtalk"] "bruhh is that a pitchfork? oh shit nope that's not a promising welcome- fuck, RUN!"[break] [attr="class","questblock"]
artefact handed over, pay received, everything seems to be going smoothly. unfortunately, the next town over, jed's familiar gets mistaken for a daemon and they get chased by a mob intent on killing them. they flee deep into the wilderness, eventually managing to lose the hunters... only to realise at the end that oh fuck. they're lost [break] THREAD THREE[attr="class","questtalk"] "dude at this point, i wouldn't be surprised if a tornado touches down in front of us tomorrow."[break] [attr="class","questblock"]
after a few rough weeks, they finally stumble back to civilisation... only for devastating earthquake/flooding to hit just as they're planning to leave. runa and jed they stay for a while to help out in the aftermath. most of the roads leading in and out are destroyed/unusable still, so they eventually negotiate an agreement with a merchant ship to help out onboard in return for being taken to delphi... [break] THREAD FOUR[attr="class","questtalk"] "jed? i don't care how long it takes, we're walking the rest of the way."[break] [attr="class","questblock"]
oops, the merchant ship turns out to be pirates?? there's a monster guarding a treasure and the pirates want runa and jed to take it out for them... otherwise they'll leave them to be eaten. if they do manage to defeat the monster, the pirates will magnanimously allow them to take the kill credit ("we're paying you in clout!!"), a little bit of treasure, and drop them off at the next port. surprisingly, the pirates keep to their word... but they're still a long way from delphi. screw it, they're walking the rest of the way. [break] ooc description: each thread has its own premise already and can function as a social. there should be no need for staff set-up or moderation unless you want to[break] suggested reward: maybe a custom trinket/weapon each? or an exploration/navigation/survival related skill? not sure, we're both open to suggestions and discussion!!
