Welcome there!![break][break]
I'm sure I'll need to finesse some things to fit this idea with the moonrise lore, but for now, this is what simmered in my mind. Art, chaos, being disruptive, (maybe?) risking jail time, it started with those seeds... And the current events felt like a good time to write this wanted finally.[break][break]
This wanted ad is open to fellow artists (Catalyst's members) but also potential patrons invested in the/one cause, handy people who can help, or not handy people who can still help by being on the lookout and help to avoid the police (for example).[break][break]
If you have any questions or are interested, feel free to ask/dm me!![break][break]
ORIGINS[break] Founded in 1961, Catalyst started on Oracle University campus as a zine a group of five students from different disciplines used to talk about their journeys, express their ideas through various mediums (poetry, collage, drawing...), and evoke topics considered taboo by the people around them.[break][break]
Sold during festivals and indie concerts, traded through some exchanges with other groups from OU or other universities, or gifted during debates the group initiated, the zine gained followers and detractors over time. What was a fun experiment in college for some members became a serious collective for the remaining two.[break][break]
Away from its roots, Catalyst rose in the industrial zone. Home of the angry, of the marginalized, of the protester, the collective opened its doors to any artist, regardless of their medium, who had something to say about society, the laws, and the voted decisions. While different movements started to exist within the collective, Catalyst managed to stay united.[break][break]
In 1995, after a Cerberus raid following a tip involving the collective in future violent and disruptive activities, some members broke away from the pacifist stance Catalyst had cultivated over the years. [break][break]
Following this event, the birth of T.N.T (short for tools and triggers) brought some discord, and after days of debates and a vote, it was decided T.N.T members could have some leeway as long as they didn't bring down the work of their fellow artists and endanger people. [break][break]
Nowadays, T.N.T still exists within Catalyst but is regarded as the organization of those who have no problem breaking the laws or using violence and threats if it feels like an appropriate response.[break][break]
OPERATING AND ACTIONS[break] Collaborate, support, and inspire each other -- It has always been Catalyst's motto. Artists are encouraged to work together and lend a hand to anyone who needs it (of course, if one has the skills for the concerned project), and artists are invited to brainstorm their future projects together.[break][break]
Almost every medium is represented, and any snob is more than welcome to leave if they dislike one discipline. Nobody likes elitists in Catalyst.[break][break]
From street art covering government administration buildings to sculptures related to a voted law, land art in Oracle Square, or plays on the OU campus, Catalyst's members' actions vary through the year.[break][break]
While the collective accepts everybody, regardless of the coven, social status, human or witch, one rule has been established: using real identities is prohibited. Members pick a nickname and use it for all their interactions.[break][break] T.N.T[break] T.N.T members are recognizable in protest marches by their whole sand-color outfits and their hidden faces guaranteeing their anonymity. This sandy block prefers live performances: illusions, holograms, messing with the sense of the people they face. [break][break]
However, T.N.T's most well-known feat is breaking into the city hall and leaving a medium-sized fiber sculpture named 'Knights guiding freedom to Gallows.'[break][break] [attr="class","sleft"]conscious crafters [attr="class","sleft"] [attr="class","sleft"] [attr="class","sleft"][break][break] [newclass=".loccont"]background: var(--secondbg); color: var(--iconcolor); font-family: "Jost"; font-size: 13px; line-height: 1.8; width:520px; margin: 0 auto; box-sizing: border-box; } .loctitle { text-align:center; font-weight:bold; font-size:20px; border-bottom:1px solid var(--thirdbg); color: white; font-size: 20px; text-transform: uppercase; letter-spacing: 0.1em; box-sizing: border-box; padding:2em; margin-bottom:1em; box-shadow: inset 0 0 0 1000px rgba(18, 18, 30, 0.7); background-size: cover; background-position: center; } .locbody { padding:2em 3em 3em 3em; text-align:justify; } .locbody span { background-color:var(--mainbg); padding:0.2em 1em; float:right; margin:0 0.2em; } .locbody span:first-child { margin-right: 0;} .locbody b { color:var(--hovericoncolor);[/newclass]
